About a year ago, a good friend recommended the book The China Study by Campbell and Campbell with a comment that I ‘enjoy that type of book.’ She was right. I tend to read non-fiction books, based on scientific studies that offer self-help. And I am always looking to improve my diet.
I began reading The China Study as I do all books – five to 15 minutes a night before I go to sleep. Soon, I stayed awake until my late-night husband would join me in bed so I could read different passages from the book to him. After I read aloud excerpts from the first three chapters, he announced, “That’s it!”
“What’s it?” was my response.
“That’s it! We need to eat vegan.”
And with those words, our journey begins.
